Of the FMC that enlisted in the CSA, the great majority just served out their term or until discharged for disability.
Only about 1 or 2% were discharged because of race.

since the CSA had at least the Sherokee Mounted Rifles, what percentage of the FMC were Native Americans (and therefore definitely not black)?

I've collected about 1,000 records of fmc and a few slaves who were in CS service.
That's what the records show.

I suppose you could classify Native Americans as fmc but the term usually refers to someone of African descent.

Oh, you are referring to all those nonmilitary cooks 'enlisted' under the 1862 law.
