Or most of the statues were standardized with a small bit of customization depending on who ordered it. Yankee cap or Confederate kepi, different belt buckles and other accouterments that were attached just before shipping. Mass-produced statues could be afforded, custom ones not so much.Apparently not, but I'm bettin' some of a higher conscience were. Economics like water, seeks its lowest level unless checked.
Maybe those stone-cutters and statue makers were dough-face Dems. Or possibly low-wage earners looking to get by to pay the next bill.
