There was a Revolution in the 1860's America that has gone unnoticed by most of History. Many would say the only Revolt was the Southern state rejecting the union for their addiction to slavery but no there was another. Maybe, it was not a Revolution but a usurpation of power.

The revolution or usurpation happen in Washington, D.C. the great capital of our nation. The revolution/usurpation was the expanding of government in size and power creating the beginning of a powerful central government. Yes, our government under the leadership of Lincoln and Republicans grabbed power and left our Constitution in tatters. Not only did they tatter our Constitution, they added amendments to give the government even greater power over the people so to enshrine it forever.

I do not say this is a bad thing a strong central government but this revolution/usurpation must be recognized for what it was a power grab, still hold today. Why or how did this revolution/usurpation happen?

This revolution/usurpation was the fulfillment of a self fulfilling prophetess. The South feared a strong central government would try to end their addiction to slavery and brought on our Civil War. By bring on war the South created what they had feared and brought forth their self fulfilling prophetess of the strong central government and the ending of slavery.

Southern Fear force them into a prohibition towards the union and Washington,DC and giving up any political say in government. By prohibiting their interaction with Washington, the south gave up any ability to manage and regulate Washington,DC action on slavery or any other Southern issues. Their Souther prohibition of government left a power vacuum and cause the revolution in government power for the gate keepers walked off the job. This Southern prohibition of government left them with only one recourse..".WAR"!

This Revolution/usurpation was mask by a simple speech given in November of 1863 by Lincoln that redefined our nation, Gettysburg Address...

There was a revolution in the 1860's...... a forgotten one....

And the pro Confederate folks on the web who complain about" big gubermint" are hypocrites because their great grand parents loved FDR.

Southerners loved powerful federal government until it tried to give civil rights to blacks.

In the antebellum period, as long as the powerful federal government was forcing Northerners to return fugitive slaves or supporting Southern slaveowners, it was good.
