Every year, American citizens are violently attacked by folks who are in our country illegally. Many liberal minded municipalities, ignore federal law, & refuse to help prevent these tragedies from happening.

I have a real hard time understanding how a United States city, or politician, can honestly justify, siding with criminals who shouldn't even be in our country.

Insanity...

Here's a small sampling....

Empirical studies of immigrant criminality generally find that immigrants do not increase local crime rates and are less likely to cause crime than their native-born peers, and that natives are more likely to be incarcerated than immigrants.4 There are two broad strands of this literature. The first is an area approach that analyzes how immigrants affect crime in locations where they settle, finding a general decrease in crime rates.5 The second broad strand of research examines immigrant institutionalization rates and uniformly finds that that native-born Americans are more likely to be incarcerated than immigrants as a percentage of their population.6

Left wing think tanks only care about left wingers obtaining, & holding onto power. They care nothing about American citizens lives that are affected by folks who shouldn't even be here.

Illegals are potential voters, and they shift the demographics of areas they settle in, even if they never become voters. It's not hard to see why illegal immigration continues to be demanded by some politicians, considering who benefits from it.

https://cis.org/Report/Impact-Legal...rtionment-Seats-US-House-Representatives-2020

  • The 2020 census will show that the presence of all immigrants (naturalized citizens, legal residents, and illegal aliens) and their U.S.-born minor children is responsible for a shift of 26 House seats. This is the cumulative impact of immigration, not the change from the previous census.
  • To put this number in perspective, changing the party of 21 members of the current Congress would flip the majority in the U.S. House. The 26 seats represent the effect of all immigrants and their children 17 years of age and younger, and is not the change from one census to another.
  • Ohio will have three fewer seats in 2020 than it otherwise would have had but for the presence of all immigrants and their minor children in other states. Michigan and Pennsylvania will have two fewer; and Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, West Virginia, and Wisconsin will each have one fewer seat. California will have 11 more seats in 2020 than it otherwise would have; New York and Texas will have four more seats each; Florida will have three more seats; New Jersey will have two more seats; and Illinois and Massachusetts will each have one additional seat.
  • Of the 26 seats that will be lost, 24 are from states that voted for Donald Trump in 2016. Of states that will gain House seats because of immigration, 19 seats will go to the solidly Democratic states of California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Illinois. Texas is the only solidly Republican state that gains, while Florida is a swing state.
  • Doing the same calculation, but counting only immigrants themselves (naturalized citizens, legal permanent residents, guestworkers, foreign students and illegal aliens), but not their U.S.-born minor children, will redistribute 18 seats in the House in 2020. Ohio will have two fewer seats than it otherwise would have had but for the presence of immigrants in other states. Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah, and West Virginia will each have one fewer seat. California will have seven more seats in 2020 than it otherwise would. New York and Florida will have three more each; Texas and New Jersey will have two more seats; and Illinois will have one more seat.
  • Looking at non-citizens and their U.S.-born minor children redistributes 10 seats, with Ohio, Michigan, Alabama, Idaho, Minnesota, Missouri, West Virginia, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island each having one fewer seat. California will have four more seats than it otherwise would have; Texas will have three more seats; and New York, Florida, and New Jersey will have one additional seat each.
  • Looking at only non-citizens (legal residents and illegal immigrants) redistributes eight seats, with Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, Alabama, Idaho, West Virginia, and Rhode Island each having one fewer seat in 2020 due to the presence of non-citizens in other states. California will have three additional seats; Texas will have two more seats; and Florida, New Jersey, and New York will each have one more seat.
  • Illegal immigrants and their U.S.-born minor children will redistribute five seats in 2020, with Ohio, Michigan, Alabama, Minnesota, and West Virginia each losing one seat in 2020 that they otherwise would have had. California and Texas will each have two additional seats, and New York will have one additional seat.
  • Illegal immigrants alone in the 2020 will redistribute three seats, with Ohio, Alabama, and Minnesota each having one fewer seat than they otherwise would have had, while California, New York, and Texas will have one additional seat.

Voter suppression is a GOP favorite. This is just part of deny votes to people of color.

Pretty sad that Democrats will put aside the safety of American citizens, to gain more political power. Which is what all this about.

Voter fraud is a Democratic favorite.

There is but one singular reason to be against voter id laws. Fraud.
If you keep repeating, maybe it becomes true.

I have provided evidence for my belief. It's not a theory, it's already happened and continues to have a measurable impact.

It's mainly Democrats that favor illegal immigration for the reasons stated above, but some Republicans have pushed it too. My own senator from SC (who I do not vote for, just to be clear) Lindsey Graham has stated, and I heard this myself, "If we legalize them (the illegal immigrants) they will vote Republican." So he's looking for votes, and I'm sure he's not the only one. And of course, the Chamber of Commerce loves the cheap labor. Despite the moral preening by the politicians, very few are genuinely looking out for the interests of illegal immigrants. They are a human resource to be exploited, sadly.

At the same time, it's hard to completely sympathize with them when they sneak across the border and take jobs and resources that rightly belong to American citizens. I'd have no problem with a visa work program that allows us to monitor who comes in and out across the border, and to control it better, and I think those who legally immigrate and become American citizens can often be better citizens than many who are born here and do not appreciate what we have. I respect those who come here, work hard, and take the oath as Americans. It's hard to respect trespassers who take what they have not earned.

Just my two cents.

They don't care. Most Democrats whether they agree with it or not, appreciate the idea of Kalifornia getting more seats/electoral votes.

There is no logical evidence to counter voter id requirements. Instead, most Dems will either ignore the topic, or go to the usual playbook citing racism, former poll taxes, etc... without actually making a case why requiring identification to secure honest, & fair elections is a bad idea.

You can't do anything of significance in this country without an ID. Banking, cashing checks, driving, getting into rated R movies, collecting benefits, including food stamps, employment, marriage, social security, renting or buying a home, hunting/fishing license, adopting a pet, get a prescription, get a cell phone, etc... All of which, I never hear anyone complain about.

Yet, somehow we shouldn't have to show ID to vote..?? I've never heard anyone make even a remotely good reason why.

LOL. Thanks for proving my point.

There have been many proven accounts of voter fraud. That is a fact. There are documented accounts of illegal immigrants voting in our elections. Again, this is a fact, not opinion.

Also, can you explain how requiring an ID to vote is bad for the integrity of our elections..? Maybe, dumb it down in detail for a right winger like myself. I'd like to actually understand your position rather than just hear emotional talking points.

NO NO, NO ...
Can you explain how allowing unfettered illegal immigration to our country makes American citizens safer..?

Yet, you refuse to even do that. Hard to discuss anything when one of the posters refuses to answer direct questions, or share their own opinion. I all ever see from you is copy & paste, primarily from left wing sources.

FWIW the Cato Institute is:
The institute was founded in December 1974 in Wichita, Kansas, as the Charles Koch Foundation and initially funded by Charles Koch.[nb 2][10] The other members of the first board of directors included co-founder Murray Rothbard, libertarian scholar Earl Ravenal, and businessmen Sam H. Husbands Jr. and David H. Padden.[6][11] At the suggestion of Rothbard,[11] the institute changed its name in 1976 to Cato Institute after Cato's Letters, a series of British essays penned in the early 18th century by John Trenchard and Thomas Gordon.[12][13]

Cato relocated first to San Francisco, California, in 1977, then to Washington, D.C., in 1981, settling initially in a historic house on Capitol Hill.[14](p446) The institute moved to its current location on Massachusetts Avenue in 1993. Cato Institute was named the fifth-ranked think tank in the world for 2009 in a study of think tanks by James G. McGann, PhD of the University of Pennsylvania, based on a criterion of excellence in "producing rigorous and relevant research, publications and programs in one or more substantive areas of research".[15]
Not knowing that fact is akin to attempting to debate the Civil War without knowing who was involved. It was my trick to see if folks were just throwing stuff against the wall to see if it would stick and it worked.

no... there is no fraud big enough to change an election... because the logistics of people in thousands driving to different poles to vote is an unimaginable logistic problem without getting caught. Think of the size of the conspiracy we are talking about thousands, someone going to talk...

Most voter fraud is usually a person convicted of a felony and did not know they lost their right to vote. The aliens that vote are again long-time residents in the states and sign up to vote, again not knowing they can note vote.

Can you explain how allowing unfettered illegal immigration to our country makes American citizens safer..?
Its an issue but illegals do not commit crimes because they know they will be deported... you all seem to forget that...
