The illusory truth effect (also known as the validity effect, truth effect, or the reiteration effect) is the tendency to believe false information to be correct after repeated exposure. This phenomenon was first identified in a 1977 study at Villanova University and Temple University.

No goddam academic or police officer will protect you when you are attacked. You either win or loose on your own.

No goddam academic or police officer will protect you when you are attacked by a shark.
No goddam academic or police officer will protect you when you are attacked by a fatal virus.
No goddam academic or police officer will protect you when you are attacked by a sneaky snake.
No goddam academic or police officer will protect you when you are attacked from ambush.
No goddam academic or police officer will protect you when you are hit by a speeding car.

So what is the point?

No good guy with a gun will help here.
Around 74% of all deaths in the United States occur as a result of 10 causes. Over the past 5 years, the main causes of death in the U.S. have remained fairly consistent.
1. Heart disease
2. Cancer
3. Unintentional Injuries.
4. Chronic lower respiratory disease
5. Stroke and cerebrovascular diseases
6. Alzheimer's disease
7. Diabetes
8. Influenza and pneumonia
9. Kidney disease
10. Suicide

Claiming the lives of over 22,000 Americans every year, including over 1,000 children and teens,1 firearm suicide is a significant public health crisis in the US.2 Nearly two-thirds of all gun deaths in the US are suicides, resulting in an average of 61 deaths a day.3 And the problem is getting worse: Over the past decade, the US firearm suicide rate has increased by 19 percent.4 This trend has been of particular concern for children and teens, whose firearm suicide rate has increased by 82 percent over the past 10 years;5 and for veterans, who have a firearm suicide rate 1.5 times higher than non-veteran adults.6

"Gun deaths in US reach highest level in nearly 40 years, CDC data reveal".

In 2017, gun deaths reached their highest level since 1968 with 39,773 deaths by firearm, of which 23,854 were by suicide and 14,542 were homicides.[10] T

All I can say is as an honest citizen is the police won't be there when I need them. As I have pointed out numerous times gun control doesn't prevent the bad guys from getting guns . Don't believe me then ask the people in Northern Ireland who lived through the "Troubles".
I remember during the 1993 Rodney King Riots rioters attacked even the rich neighborhood of Hancock Park and there was no LAPD or private security firm at the time Westec to be found.
I already have pointed out numerous times that semi automatic firearms which are based on technology from one hundred plus years ago can easily be made either by hand or by CNC.
Maybe putting violent criminals in jail for life might be better and ship them to beautiful Bangladesh where it is affordable to incarcerate them.

Obsession with one form of death while ignoring others is a known human trait.

For example:
You’re more likely to be fatally crushed by furniture than killed by a terrorist

In the history of the US, there has been only one Rodney King Riot, yet
Between two and four people die each year due to vending machine accidents.
Figure an average of 3 a year, in the 27 years since Rodney King Riot there has been about 81 incidents of fatal encounters with vending machines vs 1 Rodney King Riot.

Furthermore
https://www.latimes.com/local/1992riots/la-me-riots-25-years-20170420-htmlstory.html

Only 14 whites died. So more people would be saved by proper respect of vending machines than arming everyone.

Bottom line is that many people know the police aren't really going to protect them from violent attack. Also criminals will get guns anyway

Bottom line is without guns people are helpless from being brutalized by criminals while the police if they even respond will arrive to late to help them.
Reginald Denny could of used a gun when a mob pulled Hime out of the truck and beat the living crap out of him. His main assailant Damien "Football" Williams never apologized and didn't spend long in prison.
If the next Democratic Presidential Candidate runs on a strong gun control platform say hello to a second term President Trump.
If Trump gets reelected there is very good chance that he can replace one to two liberal Supreme Court members with young conservative justices that will repeal blue state gun control laws.

This is great pro guns Motra's are lies... All fact checked... @Viper21 , @WilliamH , @Andersonh1 , and @Kirk's Raider's

Link: https://www.politifact.com/subjects/guns/statements/byruling/false/
Hahahaha... You will have to forgive me if I don't take Politifact as the ultimate holders of "FACT" and "TRUTH".

For example using your link we can take the article, "Are most murders 'gangbangers killing gangbangers,' as Van Cleave says?",

Politifact rated that statement as "False" based on "Facts" or lack there of they checked. However, they completely failed to address the point he was actually making:

""Let’s fix crime," he said. "You know what? If you took an X-Acto pen to certain parts of every city in the state and around the country; if you cut it out and could take it off the map, murders would drop to almost zero. It’s usually gangbangers killing gangbangers.""

Now if they would have checked his entire, statement (his actual point) then he's basically right. Sure he is exaggerating abit on "almost zero", but he is absolutely right that most murders occur in a certain urban areas, see the below link for supporting data.

The statement he was using to justify view was false a lie. I know Republicans seems to like liers...

Yes, places with large populations will have more killings. He did not need to lie but he did... Lying is wrong and it means whatever his point was devalues it.

So President Obama must have been trying to win them over with the lie, "You can keep your insurance if you like it"

I would certainly agree he shouldn't have said it. It allows people to distract people from his valid point. Which given the data is per capital is abit more nuance then just "large populations will have more killing".
