Now they hide behind White Nationalism... You know they can not be honest about their racism like in the good old days... make America great again, like the good old days when racism and bigotry were allowed in public spaces openly... Not!

What a crock. Having different political ideology doesn't make someone racist, or a bigot by default. It simply means they have a different opinion, on how our shared tax dollars should be spent. Racists, & or bigots exist in all political ideology. Most people vote their own self interest.

As do I. I've never understood putting another country identifier before your own in talking about your citizenship or, ancestry. I personally have ancestry from plenty of other countries. However, I've never considered myself anything other than, American.

I believe referring to another country first, only creates further social division. I personally know multiple people who are native to other countries, & became American citizens. Of those that I personally know, they will tell you, they are American citizens. I've never heard any of them, refer to themselves as Native Country - American. If you ask, they may add that they were born XXXX but, became an American citizen.

Makes even less sense (in my opinion), for someone who is a natural born American citizen, born of natural born American citizen parents, to claim identity to another country first. Especially if one has to go back, 3, 4, or even more generations, to find a lineal ancestor actually born in, & a citizen of another country. I realize not everybody feels this way.......

@Viper21 , you know as well as I do and I assume you grew up in the south like I did. You know white nationalist is just a rebranding of White Supremacy...

Yes. I am a native Virginian. Although, I have lived in some other states.

My problem with your post, & why I called it a crock is, you've tried to connect our President's 2016 campaign slogan, with racism, & white nationalism. I consider that nonsense.

As I've already stated, having different political ideology doesn't make someone racist, or a bigot by default. It simply means they have a different opinion, on how our shared tax dollars should be spent. Racists, & or bigots exist in all political ideology. Most people vote their own self interest

NO...

Read the second to last line... White Supremacy is racist white Americans but today hides behind the brand called White Nationalism... I think you are funny. You bemoan how Americans choose to define their heritage in their American identity but your signature is boosting for Franconian-Germans independence, are not all Germans just Germans... They will never achieve it either...

It was a truthful and funny play on that campaign slogan...

having different political ideology doesn't make someone racist, or a bigot by default
You need to read or listen to NPR interviews with Derick Black and Eli Saslow and how Derick's dad figure out how to rebrand White Supremacy as White Nationism. How Derick ran for office and won in South Florida and how he used his dad's redefining of White Supremacy to do it. He would go door to door and told people his redefine views and he waits for the voter to say this "I am not a racist but..." if the voter used the word "but" he knew he had them... His dad was the mastermind...

which of course is used to further divide Americans into white and non-white.
It does not divide America it only clarifies Americans and allows people to denote their heritage. An African-America, Asian-Americans, Irish-Americans, German-Americans are all proud Americans. It is a silly argument that denoted one's heritage divides Americans...

It was neither truthful, or funny. Just more left wing talking points....... everybody who disagrees with that ideology is racist..... smh

Derick Black doesn't speak for me, or tens of millions of others in our country who support our President.

Is Farrakhan a racist..?? Does he spew hate..?

Was Robert Byrd racist..? How long did he hold office..?

Again, as I've said a couple times already, there are racists in both major political parties, & folks from all types of ideology. I believe folks that are actually racist, & dislike other people purely based on their ethnicity are a HUGE minority in our country. Nowhere near what is advertised by the media. Though I do believe they do exist. In all forms. All ideologies, both genders, & all ethnicities.

It does not divide America it only clarifies Americans and allows people to denote their heritage. An African-America, Asian-Americans, Irish-Americans, German-Americans are all proud Americans. It is a silly argument that denoted one's heritage divides Americans...
You left out, "in your opinion". Plenty of people disagree with you, including me. By definition it's divisive. It's intentionally separating folks based on ancestry, & or self identification.

Do you really believe Asian Americans want to be lumped into the POC deal? The ones I know want to be Americans, period. Most came here within one generation ago and could not speak the language. Now they excel in school, most are law abiding model citizens, become successful business people as well as being way over-represented in the scientific, research and engineering fields. My impression is that they look forward, not backward.

wanna talk jim crow and segregation?
Sure. I’m old enough to remember so let’s have a go at it. You first. But before we go South, tell me about the Jim Crows laws in the North, and how they have affected high crime and low achievement by almost any metric you want to bring up. Good luck.
