The city of Salem, Mass., currently approaching peak freak out for Halloween made time for another action. To replace the portrait of Andrew Jackson with a painting of a Native American leader of the Namekeag, the Algonquin community in the area before being decimated by disease and displaced by Puritans in the 17th century.
There has been huffing and puffing about "political correctness." One person claimed that Jackson was a "founding father" which I don't think is true.
