The base of the Republican party are white American males and they are aging, inter marrying with other nonwhite groups, and just dying off. This race war is a fantasy... scare tactic to sale more guns... in 30 years white will be the biggest minority in the nation... You argue guns will be used not in self defense but to make war on our nation just like the civil war but not over slavery but over white privilege.

Interesting question.

I say majority of US citizens will decide gun control and the response is that a minority will decide. I agree that the NRA is not a gun-rights group as much as a gun marketing group.

The US Constitution means what ever five out of nine Supreme Court Justices say it is.
If you don't believe God loves guns just ask Pat Robertson and other men if the cloth appealing to the same demographic group or just go to a church in a majority Republican Party area.

Be sure to go to a fundie church. A different flavor or faith may give different results.

That white folks in Western Europe will be a minority and they are already facing increased violent crime. Said white Europeans may want to carry firearms for self defense. This has already occurred in France to a degree.

they may want whatever they like they won't be allowed to - with even less gun knowledge than you american guys it'll be nonsense anyway

Indeed they are a bunch. Growing older and grayer as their children leave those churches in disgust.

as i never was in one of those, who i am to say? i could talk about the catholic church though (used to be an altarboy). but thatone may hardly count as conservative your place

Hmm according to previous testimony, as gun ownership in the US has increased, the crime rate has also increased. Would Europe be any different?

In any case Violent Crime Rates.
United States with a lot of guns 5.30
Germany without a lot of guns 1.00
France without a lot of guns 1.30
United Kingdom without a lot of guns 1.20

I doubt the NRA will get much traction in Europe except perhaps in Russia with lots of guns and a 9.20.

Americans can't be trusted with unregulated guns. The Swiss don't allow folks just tote guns around.

nope, but most guys have a fully functional assault rifle at home - those are of course well regulated within the swiss militia system.
